Last Saturday I had the privilege of photographing the winter wedding of Adam and Rachel. They had chosen to marry at the beautiful Glen-Yr-Afon House Hotel in Usk. Rachel and her three adult bridesmaids Emma, Emily and Catherine stayed at the venue the night before. I met them a few hours before the ceremony to take some pre-wedding photos of the girls getting ready. The bridesmaids looked resplendent in their dusky pink dresses before helping Rachel into her stunning dress. One of the bridesmaids, Adam’s twin sister had only given birth to a tiny baby boy two weeks previously. This little chap was born seven weeks prematurely but mum did a stirling job as bridesmaid whilst hubby looked after baby Flynn!
It was a typically busy bridal suite with lots of people coming and going …. including the hairdresser & make-up artist. Mum, Nan and the bridesmaids were all being attended to and enjoying the fun. Rachel’s two gorgeous boys Ellis and Cameron were regular visitors in and out of the suite. They were determined to keep checking on mum along with friend Ryan who was a pageboy. The three boys looked gorgeous in their beautiful blue suits and pink ties!
It was a lovely service and before we knew it Adam and Rachel were man & wife! The weather was very changeable (as it would be in January). Fortunately it dried up sufficiently for me to get the boys outside for a few photos before and after the ceremony. Initially the girls stayed on the steps not wanting to get their lovely dresses wet and dirty, but soon sneaked outside for a group photo. I was able to get a perfect view and took the shot from the bridal suite upstairs! The staff were really helpful throughout the day and the rooms looked lovely. It was a shame we didn’t get more photos outside in the lovely grounds but everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It was a smashing day and this lovely ready-made family were so nice to be with.
Adam & Rachel, I wish you a very long and happy marriage as you start family life together with those two gorgeous boys!
