On Saturday I had the immense pleasure of visiting Caldicot Castle to document the wedding day of Marcus and Maggie. I have been fascinated by castles since childhood so was really excited to be back here again. It’s always a delight to know that I would have a lovely backdrop to my images.
Maggie was so eager to see her handsome husband-to-be, she had arrived super early! As guests were still arriving, the lovely staff at the castle had her hiding out in the castle shop. She was accompanied by her gorgeous grand-daughter and matron of honour Gemma. They are very close and pregnant Gemma had the honour of walking her lovely Nan down the aisle!
It was a really lovely and intimate ceremony held in the Guard Room at the castle. It was evident that both Marcus and Maggie were delighted to finally be announced as ‘man and wife’! Marcus’ son and best man Simon and Maggie’s grand-daughter Gemma were both witnesses. Marcus and Simon looked spiffing in their lovely frock coats! After a relaxing drink in the bar, I soon dragged them all back outside for some photos. We were very fortunate to have a nice dry (albeit a rather nippy) afternoon! The large first floor castle room looked amazing all laid out for the reception. After a fabulous meal and some rather emotional speeches (even I welled up!) I was delighted to see it had finally warmed up. We took advantage of the increase in temperature to take some more photos in the late afternoon sun.
It was a real honour to be part of your special day Marcus and Maggie and I wish you both every happiness for the future. I hope you have a wonderful two weeks away on your honeymoon and look forward to seeing you soon!
