On Monday this week I had the pleasure of going to meet 8 week old baby Mia at the home of her Nanny & Grandad. I photograph lots of newborns and the difference in doing a session with an 8 week old is tremendous. They are SO much bigger, far less sleepy and much more alert. However, little Mia was absolutely adorable and great fun to work with. New mum Georgia was doing a fabulus job of breast-feeding Mia off to sleep for me. However, she tended to only ‘cat-nap’ and as soon as I tried to move her, would wake up again and watch me intently! She was so funny!
Mia really didn’t like me attempting to wrap her and insisted on having her little arms out! At only 8 weeks, she’s already developing her little personality, likes and dislikes. Whilst editing Mia’s session, I literally laughed out loud at some of her expressions. She gave me some very knowing looks as if to say what ARE you up to’! Lol 🙂 A photoshoot with an older baby tends to be what we call more ‘lifestyle’ shots. This is because it’s really difficult to photograph an older baby in the same style of newborn poses you can achieve within the first two weeks after birth.
If you are expecting or have a new arrival in your family and would like to arrange a photo-session, please don’t hesitate to contact me on 07890 395732. Alternatively you can email: firstname.lastname@example.org. Little ones at this age change SO quickly, so capturing this time is really precious.
I’m sure Mia will bring her mum and dad a huge amount of joy and is certainly already doted on by her new grandparents! I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a selection of the images from her session below:
