Fun photo-session with 2 year old Lydia

A week last Saturday I travelled to the home of Dan and Hollie. Nanny and grandad had arranged a gift photoshoot for them and two and a half year old Lydia. I hadn’t met their little one befoe and it quickly emerged she had bags of personality! She was wearing a gorgeous little tutu skirt but absolutely refused to remove her favourite rainbow wellies! I explained to mum & dad that it’s all about capturing their personality as they are now in the photo-session. In years to come, you will look back and remember how funny and gorgeous they were at that age.

I set up my backdrop stand in their lounge chatting to Lydia so I could get to know her and she would be comfortable with me. She constantly carries around her adored ‘bunny’ (her comfy blanket toy) and funnily enough loves Buzz Lighyear! Once ready to start photographing, Lydia wanted these items in most of the photos. Mum also showed me a variety of gorgeous dressing-up girly dresses along with posh frocks. We managed to get Lydia in one but she wasn’t having any of it and objected strongly! Mum disappeared upstairs to find her big elephant to sit on and down came Ted the puppy! He was adorable and Lydia evidently loves him so we also got him in on the photo-session! Editing the pics made me chuckle ๐Ÿ™‚

Lydia did eventually start to tire and needed the comfort of her bottle. Photo-sessions with children of any age should be relaxed and fun. Sometimes the little ones are fab and othertimes not. However, I’ve never had a completely unsuccessful photoshoot. If you would like to arrange a kids mini-session for your own family, don’t hesitate to give Tania a ring on 07890 395732.

I hope you’ll enjoy viewing a few images from last weekend’s session with Lydia and Ted the dog! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hi Hollie, I just found your comment stuck in my Spam box! Thank you so much. I'm glad you love the pics. It was a really fun session and although Lydia started to tire by the end, I think we got some fab pics ... made me chuckle whilst editing anyway! :) x
