A few weeks ago I was delighted to head back to my old stomping ground of Glastonbury (where I lived for many years) to photograph the wedding of an ex-colleague and friend Emma to her beloved George! The bride-to-be was getting ready from her mum’s house in Glastonbury. She was joined by her lovely sister Rebecca and George’s sister Liz who were both bridesmaids.
Earlier this year Emma gave birth to baby Alfie who is the apple of his nanny & Grandads’ eyes! Everyone was helping amuse him whilst the girlies had their hair done by the lovely Aimee. George’s mum arrived mid-morning to collect Alfie. She brought a surprise gift from George to his new bride… a beautiful necklace containing Alfie’s fingerprint – such a lovely gesture. The stunning flowers were then delivered by Nina Jane floral artist in Glastonbury.
With baby Alfie off with his Nanna, it was time for the girlies to get ready. The beautiful vintage car arrived to take the bridesmaids out to Meare Parish Church. I followed the car out which then returned for Emma and her dad. George was eagerly waiting for his bride with his best man and groomsmen Haydn, Tom and Joe. Emma eagerly arrived a few minutes early and looked beautiful in her gown. She was wearing the matching floral hair crown that her bridesmaids also wore. It was a lovely ceremony and in no time at all, Emma and George were declared husband and wife. They joyfully carried baby Alfie outside for photos. After a celebratory glass of bubbly from their chauffer, they were driven to their reception at the Long Sutton Golf Club.
Emma and George were given a grand welcome at the golf club. After mingling with family and friends, they were whisked off in a golf buggy to a lovely area where we could take some photos (without being hit by flying golf balls)! The guests were later served with a lovely three course meal. After speeches by Emma’s dad, George and best man Haydn, we went back outdoors for more pics and had another ride in the golf buggy! When we returned, the two lovely chaps from MJS Entertainments were setting up for the evening ahead. More evening guests were arriving and there was a happy buzz in the air. After the cutting of the cake, Emma and George had their first dance … and were then joined by baby Alfie. I left the happy revellers a short time later to party the night away. It was such a fab day and I hope you’ll enjoy viewing just a small selection of the photos of Emma & George’s wedding day below:
