Last Saturday I drove to Cardiff to the home of Tammy and Dai in preparation for their wedding at Pier 64, Penarth. The hairdresser plus make-up & hair specialist Natalie from Beau Bridal had been there for some time. They were busy beautifying the bride-to-be, friends she had staying there and her lovely mum. Tammy and Dai are a down-to-earth couple who have been together for twenty years. They wanted a small, intimate and low-key wedding with a relaxed atmosphere. Choosing to have their wedding at Pier 64, Penarth was perfect for such an occasion.
I headed off to the venue before Tammy and her visitors to meet up with Dai and other arriving guests. Despite recent horrendous weather, we were blessed with a dry, sunny afternoon – albeit cold and blustery. Tammy duly arrived in her gorgeous dark red gown and was ushered upstairs (where the weddings are held) to see the registrars. As Tammy and Dai wanted a more informal wedding, they had chosen to walk in together for their ceremony. Before we knew it, rings had been exchanged and they were pronounced husband and wife!
We were then able to transfer back downstairs for guests to enjoy a drink. Staff were then able to change around the room upstairs in preparation for their reception meal. Despite the breeze, we got some fabulous shots on the balcony outside over-looking the beautiful marina. Such an awesome place for a very different type of wedding photo! I was only with Tammy & Dai for half a day so I left them in peace once they sat down to eat. I thoroughly enjoyed being able to document such a lovely occasion at Pier 64.
Tammy and Dai I wish you both every happiness for your future together as a married couple.
