Last Saturday I drove to Cardiff for the wedding of Caitlen and Rob at the National Museum. I was meeting Caitlen (fondly known as Kitty) at BroDan’s Hairdressing Salon. She was there with her mum, sister (Matron of Honour) and best mate from Uni, Sophie (bridesmaid)! Salon owner Louise was busy dressing their hair and making them all look fabulous. On the first floor, make-up artist Kath Kift was working her magic! It was a lovely relaxing morning with the girlies sipping bubbly.
After hair and beauty was completed, we all went back to Kitty’s sister’s home nearby where everyone was getting ready. The flowers had already been delivered by Secret Garden Florists based in Cardiff Market. They were absolutely stunning … I love the Autumn bouquet colours. The girls were wearing long burgundy bridesmaid dresses which complemented the flowers. Caitlen was soon assisted into her beautiful dress purchased from Laura May Bridal Store. A vintage car (called Mary) arrived from Ebony & Ivory to collect the girls. I followed them to St Mark’s Church where they were holding the ceremony, whilst the car returned for Caitlen and her dad. The congregation was happily listening to harpist Katie Bayliss, whilst Rob waited nervously with best man Simon.
Unfortunately, it was a very wet November day. After the lovely ceremony was over, Kitty and Rob had arranged for their family and friends to enjoy a buffet lunch in the big hall adjoining the church. Many of their friends had kindly offered to volunteer with serving drinks etc. Due to the inclement weather, we were unable to get any outdoor photos so enjoyed taking pics inside the church before later heading off to The National Museum.
Reception at The Museum:
Once at the Museum, we were invited up to the Art Gallery floor. As the Museum didn’t close to the public until 5pm, the staff downstairs were then very busy preparing for their reception. It was really exciting to be finally allowed downstairs to see Dippy the Dinosaur. This 70ft monster Diplodocus is on display until 26th January 2020. It was fascinating to stand so close and see how huge they were! I’m sure there won’t be many brides and grooms who can say they had a dinosaur at their wedding! The staff at the venue were so helpful and it was a fabulous evening. It was made even better when finally around 9.30pm, it had stopped raining! We were then able to go outside and get some night shots!
Caitlen and Rob, I know you’re now on your honeymoon in the USA so hope you have an amazing time and enjoy viewing a selection of your photos below:
