Last Saturday I excitedly headed off down to Bristol for the wedding of Joanne and Nathan at The Clifton Pavilion. I was meeting Joanne and her five bridesmaids getting ready at her parents home in Redland. The girlies all looked fab and very chilled in their colourful floral dressing gowns. The lovely hairdresser Natalie and make-up artist Jamie were very busy ensuring all the ladies looked amazing! I was blown away by Jo’s stunning vintage inspired Justin Alexander wedding dress from Allison Jayne, Bristol. Her two little cousins Elisa and Amelie who were to be her flower girls arrived and then the stunning flowers by Roots Floral Design turned up.
When Joanne finally appeared in her gown, she looked so beautiful. She wore fresh flowers in her hair to match her bridal flowers. She was also wearing vintage jewellery that once belongd to her Nan. Joanne and Nathan had organised a fabulous vintage bus to take her, bridesmaids, flower girls etc to the Redland Parish Church. Everyone piled into the gorgeous cream & green bus and I followed on behind.
It was a really lovely ceremony and I was delighted to be able to sneak upstairs in the church. When the service was over, everyone piled back onto the bus and made their way to The Clifton Pavilion. This is actually a part of the Bristol Zoo Gardens. It was awesome to be able to wander around the Zoo gardens with Joanne and Nathan. They looked radiant in their wedding attire and turned out to be quite a spectacle! I think members of the public were just as interested in Jo & Nathan as they were of the animals! Lots of people came up and congratulated them on their wedding – and Joanne did look utterly stunning.
The beautiful ballroom of The Clifton Pavilion where the reception was held is up on the first floor. Doors open onto a balcony overlooking the gardens below. The room looked fabulous (very opulent) and the staff were all really lovely throughout the day. After the amazing meal and speeches, a gang of us headed back out for photos and were able to have a real giggle. Thank you guys for being so much fun and being more than willing to indulge me with taking funny pictures! By the time we returned to the Pavilion, the boys from Halflight band were busy setting up. They soon got everyone up and dancing and sounded great. Jo and Nathan didn’t want to have a ‘first dance’ as such. They insisted everyone be up with them and join them on the dance floor.
Congratulations to you both Jo and Nathan (I know you are now on your amazing honeymoon so will no doubt be reading this from the USA!) Jo you looked like an angel last Saturday … your mum & dad – and new husband of course – must be so proud of you. Hope you enjoy seing a selection of the photos from your fab wedding below:
