Last weekend, I drove to Ross-On-Wye for the wedding of Karen and George at Brooks Country House. This is a fabulous venue in an elevated, imposing location surrounded by lovely grounds. I found Karen getting ready in the bridal suite with her friend Andrea who was busy doing Karen’s hair. Andrea’s daughter Jasmine had already made up the beautiful bride-to-be and done her nails. After a few photos, I went for a wander to find George and meet arriving guests (that hadn’t stayed the night before!) Some had travelled a significant distance. The groom looked very dapper in his tweed suit – a proper country gentleman! Both Karen and George are really into their horses and dogs – they had their two labrador fur-babies with them on their Big Day.
Karen and George had chosen to have a late afternoon ceremony at 4pm. Dad came a few minutes beforehand to escort her downstairs. She looked absolutely beautiful n her elegant gown and wearing her grandma’s pearls. George’s eyes welled up with tears when he saw her walking towards him. Throughout the ceremony and vows, he was really emotional which I found very touching. Marriage is very precious and to find someone who utterly adores you is wonderful. Before we knew it, they were declared husband and wife! We were soon outside mingling and preparing for the confetti shots! We actually didn’t have too long outdoors as it soon started to rain (again!) George went to fetch Peppe and Angel so they could get in on the pics as well!
The lovely staff at Brooks Country house worked tirelessly to accommodate everyone, and a short time later the wedding party were served with a stunning three course meal. Afterwards, Karen’s dad and Karen herself said a few words and handed out some little gifts for their treasured friends. The wedding of Karen & George at Brooks Country House was such a lovely, relaxed and elegant affair in a beautiful setting. Conratulations you guys – I wish you every happiness for the future.
