Wedding of Lidia & Stefan

I was absolutely delighted yesterday be able to photograph the ceremony-only wedding of Lidia and Stefan. The world has changed considerably since the global pandemic. It has particularly affected couples who are planning their ‘Big Day’. The wedding industry has suffered massively and so many couples have had to postpone their marriage. With social distancing in place, they are still not being allowed the majority of friends and family to attend.

Lidia and Stefan however are both from Romania but met and fell in love in the UK! Most of their families therefore are back in Romania and still under travel restrictions. Stefan’s brother and another close friend were their two witnesses and face-timed mum during the wedding. She was then happily able to be a part of the wedding ceremony! It was really disappointing that I wasn’t even allowed inside The Mansion House registry office in Newport to document their ceremony. I patiently waited outside until they re-appeared as husband and wife! We then took advantage of the lovely grounds of The Mansion House and enjoyed a few photos in the beautiful gardens.

With photos there ‘in the bag’ we then drove to the gorgeous Llandegfedd Reservoir. It’s a beautiful location and something a bit different for wedding pics! Gorgeous Lidia caused quite a stir in her beautiful wedding dress. Stefan and Lidia weren’t having a reception but had planned to go out for a quiet meal later. Hopefully once current restrictions subside, they will eventually have a reception likely back in Romania.

Although our time together was fairly brief, I could already see what fabulous people they were. I wish Lidia and Stefan every happiness as they start married life together 🙂 Below are a few photos from yesterday:
