Wedding of Mandy & Jon at The Clifton Pavilion

Last Sunday I drove down to The Clifton Pavilion (Bristol Zoo Gardens) for the wedding of Mandy & Jon.  It was a glorious autumn day – my favourite time of year.  The colours are vibrant this time of year and we were blessed with a dry (albeit nippy) sunny day.  Mandy & Jon had deliberately chosen Bristol Zoo Gardens for their spectacular wedding due to having a big family with lots of kiddies!  Mandy has four gorgeous daughters (all bridesmaids) and unbelieveably is already a Nana to little Harvey aged two.  Jon has a six-year old daughter called Lily who was the youngest bridesmaid.  There were also lots of neices and nephews present so the Zoo was a brilliant choice for their ‘Big Day’.

The Clifton Pavilion is licensed for marriages so Jon and Mandy held their ceremony in the very regal Clifton Suite.  This is up on the first floor of the Pavilion with a balcony overlooking the gardens (and flamingoes!) below.  Jon’s friend Earl was best man with responsibility of the rings.  It was a lovely service and Mandy and the girls all looked beautiful.  Mandy wore a stunning dress from Belda Bridal in Sutton Coldfield.  I loved her chosen claret colour scheme – perfect for the time of year.

Bristol Zoo Gardens:

When the legalities were over, everyone headed downstairs to The Garden Room for welcome drinks. Mandy, Jon and myself then headed out into the grounds of the Zoo for photos.  Most people are stunned when they see a beautiful bride walking towards them! We met one gorgeous Syrian family of refugees.  They were so overwhelmed when they saw Mandy & Jon, they sang them a greeting in their mother tongue.  They were so lovely and utterly delighted to see a wedding party!

The grounds of Bristol Zoo Gardens are fabulous for taking photos.  It was rather cold so we eventually headed back to the warm Pavilion. I then dsappeared again for a wander with the youngest bridesmaids!  The older girls and many of the guests were already looking around the Zoo.  By the time we got back, the hard-working staff at The Pavilion had transformed the Clifton Suite for the reception.  It looked amazing and Mandy had worked incredibly hard for months before making table and chair decors, all the flowers etc. She is a very clever lady!  After a wonderful meal and speeches, everyone headed back downstairs to dance the night away.  This was such a lovely wedding and you can tell all the little ones felt very included and had a fab day. I was able to photograph some gorgeous little monkeys! 🙂

Mandy and Jon, you both looked amazing on your wedding day.  I hope you’ll enjoy seeing a selection of your photos below and I wish you both a very long and happy marriage.
