On Saturday afternoon I had the immense privilege of photographing the wedding of Sam & Jaz at Llancaiach Fawr. I have known Sam and his lovely family since he was born and met Jasmine about 18 months ago. They are such a lovely couple so I was delighted to be able to document their Big Day.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t too kind and it rained most of the day. However, the girls were having fun when I joined them at the lovely home of Liz (Matron of Honour) in Aberbargoed. Jasmine’s sister Johanna and close friend Jardine were the other two bridesmaids and neice Laili was her flower girl. The older girls were having hair, and then make up done by the lovely Leanne sat in their ‘Team Bride’ pink dressing gowns. Liz’s French bulldog Gus was looking most bemused by the goings-on! Jaz’s mum and dad were also getting ready and leaving from Liz’s house. The girls helped Jaz into her beautiful gown and blue suede shoes that had a secret message from Sam on the sole. It was very touching to see dad Mike’s expression when he saw his beautiful daughter in her dress for the first time. A fabulous orange VW Camper Van arrived to whisk the bride and bridesmaids off to the venue.
Llancaiach Fawr is a stunning 16th Century Grade 1 Manor House. It is now run by Caerphilly County Borough Council and licensed for marriages. Sam and Jasmine’s ceremony was at 5pm in the Conservatory. Laili and nephew Jack preceeded her walking down the aisle carrying a sign ‘Don’t Worry Ladies I’m Still Single’! When Sam saw his gorgeous bride, he wept which was very moving. It was a lovely ceremony and once legalities were over and done with, everyone headed down to The Great Hall.
Jasmine and Sam wanted a relaxed wedding with few formalities. The evening was a huge success with a fabulous curry for tea, Krispy Kreme doughnuts and a bucking bronco! A pub-style quiz was hosted by Sam’s dad Antony before the dancing kicked off. I’m sure you’ll agree from the photos below, Jasmine and Sam looked fabulous on their wedding day. They are now off to Mexico for their honeymoon this week.
Sam & Jaz, I wish you both a very relaxing holiday and every happiness for your future together.
