Wedding of Sue & Stacy at Caldicot Castle

Last Saturday I had the immense pleasure of photographing the fabulous wedding of Sue and Stacy.  This lovely couple have been together for many years and finally got round to ‘tying the knot’!  What was exciting for me about this wedding is that Sue and Stacy had booked TWO venues for their celebrations!  They were having the  ceremony and photos at Caldicot Castle then moving on to the Chepstow Racecourse for their reception!  As photographers, we love to have variety so I knew that would make an interesting day for me. I was really looking forward to it!  I met Sue and the girls at the house as they were getting ready.  Sue’s daughter Jade and Stacy’s daughter Lauren were both adult bridesmaids. Little Alice, Sue’s 20 month old  grand-daughter was the ‘flower girl’!

After spending a good hour or so with the girls, I then left to go and meet the groom-to-be. Once at the Castle I was able to photograph family and friends arriving.  We were blessed with fabulous weather for the entire day and it was a joy to see the sunshine and everyone looking lovely.  Sue soon arrived in the most stunning vintage car and was walked down the aisle by her son Kenny.  It was a lovely ceremony and we soon spilled out into the afternoon sunshine for photographs.  I have always been fascinated by castles since I was a child and absolutely love our ancient, historic monuments.  They are so unique and a fabulous backdrop for photos.

The Reception:

We eventually said goodbye to Caldicot Castle to make our way to Chepstow Racecourse.  I had one of my cameras on the passenger seat next to me in the car and the chauffer had put the soft-top of the vintage car down for them. They looked amazing driving along in the afternoon sunshine.  As we paused at a junction, I was able to grab my camera  and take a few shots from behind – which I was delighted with!

The Chepstow Racecourse venue looked amazing for their wedding. Sue, Stacy and family had put in a huge amount of effort beforehand decorating to their lovely purple colour scheme. Sue had made the four-tiered wedding cake all by herself along with the Welshcake favours on the tables! We had a fun afternoon getting the children to run races on the racecourse and putting the bride and groom on the Winner’s podium!!  The meal was fantastic and the staff superb.  As the evening progressed, more guests arrived and once the DJ had set up, the family danced the night away!

Sue and Stacy are now relaxing in Tenerife on their honeymoon, so I hope you’ll enjoy looking at a small selection of their photographs below.  I wish them both every joy and happiness in their future life as husband and wife …. congratulations you guys!
